About Assos:
An ancient settlement near the modern-day city of Canakkale in North-Western Turkey, Assos was founded around 1000 BC. It was known to be home to philosophers during its golden period, until the invasion of the Persians. Today, Assos ruins are accessible to tourists, in particular the temple and amphitheater.
