About Ilios:
Located in Northwestern Turkey, Ilios is one of the ancient names for Troy. Due to its proximity to the Aegean and Marmara Seas, as well as the Bosphorus strait, Ilios was in a key location for both military and trade. Ilios is thought to be the city referenced by Homer in The Iliad and also The Odyssey, entrenching it in literary history as well. Today, Troy is not as well preserved as other historic sites in Anatolia, but there is still some exploration possible.
