The Hieropolis is our latest obsession - it is one of the most deliciously textured, gorgeously silky, uniquely patterned pieces we have seen in a long time.  Made with what is known as Magic Thread, each piece is one-of-a-kind. Choose your color family and be delighted with your own unique piece when it arrives. 

About Magic Thread: 
"Magic thread" refers to a special type of thread used in weaving that adds unique textures and visual effects to fabrics. Made from different materials layered or twisted together, it creates patterns, shine, softness, and flexibility that regular threads can’t achieve. These threads stand out in certain areas of the fabric, enhancing color transitions and texture, making the fabric feel different to the touch and visually more striking. Magic threads are commonly used in both traditional and modern weaving to create original, creative, and eye-catching designs.

A note on color choices:
Color options presented here are representative of the color family and not meant to be exact. Due to the nature of Magic Thread, each piece will have variations in colors and design. Please embrace these as an important aspect of your traditionally loomed piece. 

Made from 100% shuttle-loomed Turkish cotton in the inner Aegean town of Buldan, known as the birthplace of textile looming in Turkiye. Please embrace any variations in size or weaving as a unique quality of your handmade piece.

Throw is approximately 44 x 86 inches and weighs about 23 ounces

About Hieropolis:
Hierapolis was an ancient city in Anatolia, located near the modern town of Pamukkale in southwestern Turkiye. Known for its hot springs and terraces of white mineral-rich deposits, Hierapolis was a popular spa destination in antiquity, attracting visitors seeking healing from the thermal waters. The city flourished during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, with impressive structures such as a theater, temples, baths, and a large necropolis. Hierapolis also had a significant early Christian presence and is believed to be the site of the martyrdom of Saint Philip the Apostle. Today, the ruins of Hierapolis, alongside the stunning natural formations of Pamukkale, are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Hieropolis is located in the same area as our Thriae Handmade atelier in the town of Buldan. Buldan is said to be the birthplace of textile weaving in Turkiye and is still a textile center today.

Your throw is pre-washed right out of the package, but we always recommend a cycle through the machine so you have a fresh towel.

Wash as with any other cotton textile:
Machine wash warm
Tumble dry low
Line dry is recommended but not required
Warm iron if desired

The Hieropolis is the perfect size and weight to use as a throw anywhere in your home. It's also large enough to curl up under and take nap, and can even be used as an oversized scarf or shawl.
